Adult Bible Class
We are currently in a series led by Pastor Meyer called “Fearless Conversations: Is God in Control of My Life?”
Join us for a study of several Old Testament characters from the Books of Joshua, Ruth and Ester. Their stories are our stories
No matter where you are in your faith journey, chances are you have questions — actually, we all do! The questions of old are very similar to the questions of our lives. We will dive into Scripture, look at the background of the individuals and discuss how we can be used by the Lord to influence the lives of others, all in His Name. Coffee will be served!
Adult Scripture Class
Beginnings of Judaism, presented by Prof. Isaiah M. Gafni.
As this class continually strives to always ‘better know’ Jesus Christ, context inspires us to think ‘wide’ and ‘wonderful.’ In her course ‘Great Figures of the New Testament‘ Prof. Amy-Jill Levine notes the following;
“I think it is a blessing that Jesus lived before the invention of the tape recorder, the video camera, the special prosecutor, and the lie detector, and I think it is also a blessing—in fact, it is a mark of great wisdom—that the church gave us four Gospels rather than one…”.
Jesus was a Jew. After 586 BCE, without Temple or country to hold them together, what did it mean to be a Jew in the first century CE? Join the scripture trekkers in Classroom B of the Fellowship Hall.
